The Biosphere trading card project began in 1991 with the release of a 34-card promotional set for a planned trading card series. Years later, an estate sale revealed previously unknown material from the project, including unreleased cards and alternate blue and white-backed versions of cards from the original green and tan-backed promotional set.

This entry documents the unreleased cards discovered through that estate sale, including blue and white-backed counterparts to the original numbered cards, card number 1 ("The Biosphere"), and two unnumbered promotional checklists listing 30 and 31 cards.

Card number 1 is known with both green and tan-backed and blue and white-backed versions. With the exception of card number 1 and the two unnumbered promotional checklists, only a single version is known for each unreleased card.
