To promote their Marilyn Monroe card set, The Private Collection issued eight different subsets, each with 4 or 5 cards, and each subset with a different design, most of them have a foil finish on the back of the card, while the photos repeat across the subsets.

For listing purposes, the subsets are labeled by me as Group 1, Group 2, etc., and the card titles are filled with a brief description of the card design.

The red set, labeled "Group 7", is the hardest one to locate, and is considered ultra-rare.

Group 1 is the most common of the bunch. Collect magazine May 1994 had an envelope inside the publication, marked with Marilyn graphics, and the envelope contained a random single from the retail set, being black bordered fronts and gold foil backs.
